This morning I was up at 4am and at main lodge at 4:45am in order to go up with ski patrol to gun 1 for avalanche control. Gun one is a bonfied military howitzer artillery gun, it shoots live explosive rounds at designated avalanche zone/targets in order to trigger avalanches before the slopes open to the public! The intention is to trigger avalanches, so once people start sking the risk of one occuring is significantly lower. It was so cloudy this morning that we couldn’t even see where the rounds were landing. But it was a educautional expierence to say the least. Here are some pics!

Mammoths park’s are back in full effect after being burried under 7feet of snow! Main park is all set up with numerous jibs and middle jump, set up jump, and show time. There is also a medium jump line set up under the chair in main park. Forest trail is set up as well with good intermediate size jumps and rails. South park has a slopstyle like set up with two different jib options before a 4 pack of jumps then one more option of jibs at the bottom. Jibs galore is set up with many different options as well, so get on up here for some great park conditions and setups!
Well this last couple weeks has been pretty eventful and productive. We got dumped on for a week getting 7 feet of snow!! It was much needed and has allowed us to feel more confident about building some bigger jumps. Doin stuff on and off mammoth mountain, all powder. Here are some pics!

Today was the first clear in a week!! It has been storming here for the last week and we got 9 feet of snow!!!!!! Mammoth was able to open the top of the mountain after hours of avy control. we are lucky are to have some pull on the resort and get to tha backside a little before it opened to the public. we messed around in one zone for a while just waiting for the word from ski patrol to get back the real zone were we could build a big jump. but all in all it was very productive day and we were able to get some shots. tomorrow is supposed to be clear and then some more weather is coming in the afternoon. we will be hitting hard again tomorrow. But today was sick!!
Went to June today with Lonnie Kauk and Shayne Pospisill. It was dumping so hard it was insane, waist deep snow and it was only getting deeper with every run! They closed the 395 south and now we are stuck in June! Oh well just gonna get sick pow tomorrow. Here is some pics.

Went out in the storm today and it was dumping so hard all day. We had alot of fun and got some shots too! The crew was Gabe Taylor, Shayne Pospisill, Trevor Jacob, and Jared Dawoud. Couple pics from the day.

Mammoth is forecasted to recieve 6-10 feet this week, that’s right feet not inches. It is very stormy up here right now and it is dumping! Here is a couple pics.

Mammoth’s forecast is snow for the next week!!!!!

Look at this forecast!!!
Sometimes you just have to do it. I mean, when January rolls around we’re just itching to film some backcountry booters. But this year the skies have blessed us with less snow than usual which has made us have to look deeper than usual for good snow. I had good news and bad news for our crew. Good news, is that I found a sick new zone with all sorts of stuff to film that’s never been shot before. Bad news, is that it requires hiking for hours and hours on end. Luckily, everyone has been super motivated and we’ve gotten some stuff for the movie. If we keep this up we’ll be carrying substantially less weight by spring time.

Gabe is a machine!! He can break trail in pow and still hike so fast it's insane

The view out there is amazing as you can se from this photo!

Gabe scoping the landing of the jump

The crew, Peter, Kevin, Shayne, and myself. Gabe took the photo.
Today we hiked to a spot that gabe Taylor has been scoping for a few weeks, we were just waiting on on enough snow. Today’s crew was Gabe Taylor and Peter Benchetler riding, while Kevin Westinbarger and my self were the documenters. It was a bit of a hike but well worth it because I can almost guarantee none of the stuff we did / plan on doin has ever been filmed before!! We will bs spending slot of time in this zone for sure. Here are some pics from the adventure.
