More spring pow

We are in the middle of yet another spring pow day this storms total is already well over a foot and it is still snowing! Mammoth is close to breaking 500″ inches for the season and is expecting to stay open untill July 4th! Our crew has been taking full advantage of these storms gettin some more time in the back country and on the mountain filming pow. Weather looks to turn a bit more spring like later this week so this could be the last of it. Here are some pics from the last week.

Spring storm

It’s april 5th and we just got dumped on, getting 2 feet of super nice light fresh pow! You wouldn’t even think it’s April, riding the pow today it was so good and light! Mammoth mountain was amazing today with almost no lift lines fresh all day. After the mountain closed me Eric Jackson, jack Mitrani, and Shayne Pospisill, decided to go snowmobile to check some spots, and what a good idea that was! So fun and good! Here are a few pics.

Roxy chicken jam

This last weekend mammoth was host to the roxy jam! It is an all girls event where the top women riders compete in slopestyle and halfpipe. This year was a bit different from the following years because the it was bigger, and by that I mean larger features. The slopestyle course had bigger jumps than the previous years with jumps as big as 65ft and more challenging jibs. The half pipe was held in a 22ft pipe instead of a 18ft pipe as well. We had perfect weather and the event was followed up by a free concert with N.A.S.A. and the Bravery in the village. All in all the event was a great, with progressive riding and good times!
Slopestyle Results:

1. Jamie Anderson

2. Janna-Meyen Weatherby

3. Jenny Jones

Superpipe Results:

1. Kelly Clark

2. Rana Okada

3. Elena Hight

The Swatch TTR World Tour was also decided over the weekend. And although relative new-comer Enni Rukajärv placed ninth in the Slopestyle event, she still had enough points to claim the women’s title and cool $50,000. Swiss miss Sina Candrian finished second this year and took $25,000. Sarka Pancochova ended up sneaking into the top three with her fifth place finish at the Chicken Jam and she’s now $15,000 richer.
